This holiday season, while many of us are cozy at home with family and friends, there’s one very special dog dreaming of her own Christmas miracle. Her name is Lucia, and her story begins far from the twinkling lights and festive cheer, on the streets of Juárez, Mexico.

At just six weeks old, Lucia was found emaciated, alone, and fighting to survive. She never had the luxury of learning life lessons from her mother or siblings, no gentle guidance, no playful cues. That early separation shaped the dog she is today.

Lucia is high-energy and full of life. She doesn’t always understand when to dial it back, not because she’s mean or aggressive, but because she missed those early lessons. She’s a puppy at heart in a big dog’s body, a whirlwind of love and enthusiasm.

But here’s the truth: with the right person, Lucia will be a fantastic dog. She’s athletic, intelligent, and loves hard. She wants nothing more than a person to call her own this Christmas, and we are determined to make that happen.

Why Early Separation Matters

When puppies are separated from their mother and littermates too soon, they miss critical socialization periods. These early weeks teach puppies how to read cues, control their bite, and regulate play. Without that foundation, dogs like Lucia often struggle with boundaries, not out of aggression, but simply because they never learned the rules.

Lucia needs:

✔ Someone who also enjoys snuggles and quiet time, because Lucia wants to be close to her people.
