About Us

In the beginning there was Mexico...

US Dog Coalition and Rescue's story started in Copper Canyon, at Cascada de Cusarare. I was just a tourist, soaking in the beauty of the waterfalls and mountains. But while I was admiring the scenery, I couldn’t ignore what was right in front of me, street dogs everywhere. Puppies, older dogs, and even pregnant moms are all struggling to survive without food or shelter.

I started feeding them because I couldn’t just walk away. It helped for a moment, but deep down I knew it wasn’t enough. They’d go right back to the same harsh life.

One day, I met a little dog at the waterfall. He was skin and bones, covered in mange, fighting parasites. All he wanted was to lie in the sun and feel safe for a minute. Tourists walked past him like he didn’t exist. I wanted to help so badly, but there were no vets for hours, and I had to leave him behind. That broke me.

That moment changed everything. It became the reason I started US Dog Coalition & Rescue. I promised myself we’d do whatever I could to help dogs like him.

Fast forward, I founded a 501(c)(3), rescued our first dogs from Mexico, and realized this mission had to be twofold:

  • Locally, we pull dogs from overcrowded shelters and take in owner surrenders.

  • Internationally, we work with rescue partners to bring street dogs from Mexico to safety.

Today, we’re a team committed to giving these dogs a second chance, food, shelter, love, and a future. If you want to be part of this journey, join us.

Together, we can change their lives.
